Dr. Jennifer Scott grew up in Indiana and moved to Minnesota in 2006 after meeting her husband Matt. She attended Purdue University. Dr. Jen resides in Zumbrota with her husband and children. They share their home with three German Shorthair Pointers, a Papillon, two cats and a guinea pig. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, camping, and spending time with her family. Dr. Jen's special interests include pet wellness, internal medicine and client education.
Dr. Boyle grew up on a dairy farm in central Minnesota. She attended the University of Wisconsin at River Falls and received her DVM degree from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Boyle resides in Hager City, WI with her husband, Matt, and their three children. They share their home with a German Wirehaired Pointer named Finn and a cat named Betsy. Outside of work, Dr. Boyle enjoys running, cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Boyle's special veterinary interests include surgery, dentistry, dermatology and client education.
Cheryl has deep ties to the Red Wing area, having grown up in Red Wing. She brings 35 years of experience to Black Dog Animal Hospital, having graduated from the University of Minnesota-Waseca in 1980 as a veterinary technician. Her duties over the years expanded to office management, but she still loves to come to work every day because of the animals and interactions with their owners. She and Dave, her husband of 32 years, raised two daughters and many pets through the years. She enjoys skiing, running and hiking and her two Dobermans 'Gilly' and 'Nova' accompany her often.
Jamie grew up in Indiana and moved to Red Wing in 1999 where her love for animals and helping people since an early age lead her to pursuing her Veterinary Technician degree from the Minnesota School of Business. Jamie brings a great deal of knowledge and skills to the hospital. She worked in a veterinary day practice for five years and then moved onto the emergency clinic in Rochester for six years to further her craft and expertise. Jamie has a Yorkshire Terrier named Mac. In her free time she enjoys cooking, gardening, being outdoors, camping, canoeing and spending time with family and friends.
Mickey has been a certified veterinary technician since 1998 when she graduated from The Medical Institute of Minnesota (now known as Argosy University). Mickey started here at Black Dog Animal Hospital in April of 2017. She shares the same values as all of us here at Black Dog and her quality of care for our patients and clients is extraordinary. Mickey enjoys client education, the variety of tasks performed on a daily basis and most importantly the human-animal bond. Mickey lives locally with her husband, 2 dogs (a Drahthaar named Pepin and a Pug named Pug) and 2 cats (Cannon and Hugo). In her free time she enjoys outdoor activities with family and friends.
Heidi grew up in Northeastern Wisconsin, where she spent a lot of time withher mom at the local veterinary clinic and working on the family hobbyfarm. Her love of animals encouraged her to obtain a degree at UW - RiverFalls, where she met her husband, Ryan. She also attended Equissage andbecame a certified massage therapist for horses and dogs. Since college,Heidi has worked with animals large and small all across NorthernWisconsin. A little over 3 years ago, Heidi and her husband moved to RiverFalls where she pursued a career working in small animal clinics. Heidishares her home with her two dogs, two cats, and her horse. She enjoyshorseback riding, any activity outdoors, reading and cooking.
Amanda recently graduated from Argosy Univeristy as a certified veterinary technician after spending 3 years at the Univeristy of Wisconsin-River Falls studying Animal Science. She enjoys interacting with clients and their furry friends and learning something new about veterinary medicine every day. Amanda just recently moved to Red Wing where she shares her home with 2 dogs (a Golden Retriever mix named Bae and a Chocolate Lab named Milah, 2 cats (Willow and Ziggy), and two goldfish (Swimmy and Brock).
Kayla grew up on a hobby farm in Southeast Minnesota. Throughout her childhood she was an avid 4-H and FFA member sparking her passion for animals. Kayla is currently a student in the Veterinary Technician Program at Dakota County Technical College. Kayla has been an employee with Black Dog Animal Hospital since February of 2018. She also works on her boyfriend's organic dairy farm feeding calves. Kayla and her boyfriend have a Labrador Retriever named Bentley, whom they love to spend time with. In Kayla's free time, she enjoys kayaking, hiking, camping and spending time with family and friends.
